Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

At LoveProof, trust is at the heart of what we're building.

LoveProof is being developed to help people make more informed decisions about the authenticity of online dating profiles. We understand that using a service like LoveProof may involve sharing information that you expect to be handled carefully.

This Privacy Policy explains how LoveProof ("LoveProof", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, stores and protects personal information when you visit our website, join our waitlist, participate in surveys, use our services or otherwise interact with us.

We are based in New South Wales, Australia and seek to handle personal information consistently with applicable Australian privacy laws, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) where they apply to us.

1. Information We May Collect

Depending on how you interact with LoveProof, we may collect information including:

Information you provide directly

This may include:

  • Your name
  • Email address
  • Mobile number
  • Country or general location
  • Age range
  • Dating apps you use
  • Survey responses
  • Feedback and feature suggestions
  • Referral information
  • Communications you send to us
  • Founding Member and promotional information
  • Subscription and account information when paid services become available

Information submitted for analysis

When the LoveProof service becomes available, users may be able to submit information relating to an online dating profile, including:

  • Screenshots
  • Profile photographs
  • Profile biographies and written descriptions
  • Usernames or profile names visible in submitted material
  • Other information contained within a submitted dating profile

This information may relate to you or to another person whose dating profile you are asking LoveProof to analyse.

Users should only submit information they are legally permitted to provide and should avoid uploading unnecessary private or sensitive information.

Technical information

When you use our website or future application, we may automatically collect information such as:

  • IP address
  • Browser and device type
  • Operating system
  • Pages viewed
  • Referral source
  • Approximate location derived from technical information
  • Website interactions
  • Cookies and similar technologies
  • App performance and diagnostic information

We may use analytics services to understand how people use LoveProof and improve our website and services.

2. Why We Collect Information

We may collect, use and hold information to:

  • Operate the LoveProof website and future application
  • Manage our Founding Members waitlist
  • Conduct product and market research
  • Understand which LoveProof features users value most
  • Develop and improve LoveProof
  • Provide profile analysis and authenticity-related services
  • Conduct reverse image searches or similar checks
  • Analyse whether submitted images may be AI-generated or manipulated
  • Analyse whether profile text may have been generated or assisted by AI
  • Identify potential indicators associated with fake or fraudulent profiles
  • Generate confidence ratings, risk indicators or Trust Scores
  • Manage subscriptions and accounts
  • Provide Founding Member benefits
  • Generate and administer promotional codes
  • Operate our referral program
  • Send service communications and product updates
  • Prevent misuse, fraud and abuse of our services
  • Maintain security
  • Comply with legal and regulatory obligations

We may also use aggregated or de-identified information for research, analytics and product development where it is no longer reasonably capable of identifying an individual.

3. LoveProof's AI Analysis

LoveProof may use automated systems and artificial intelligence to analyse information submitted by users. Depending on the features available, this may include analysing:

  • Whether an image appears elsewhere online
  • Whether an image displays indicators associated with AI generation or manipulation
  • Whether written profile content displays indicators associated with AI-generated text
  • Patterns associated with potentially fraudulent or deceptive profiles
  • Other indicators relevant to assessing profile authenticity

LoveProof's analysis is intended to provide information and indicators—not definitive conclusions about a person.

AI detection, reverse image searching and automated analysis are not perfect. A low or high risk score does not prove that a person is genuine, fraudulent, dangerous or dishonest. Users should use LoveProof as one source of information when making their own decisions.

4. Information About Other People

LoveProof may allow users to submit publicly accessible dating-profile information or screenshots containing information about another person. If you submit information about another person, you are responsible for ensuring you have a lawful basis or other appropriate authority to provide and use that information. Do not use LoveProof to harass, stalk, threaten, discriminate against or unlawfully investigate another person. We may remove information or restrict accounts where we reasonably believe LoveProof is being misused.

5. Founding Members and Waitlist

If you join the LoveProof waitlist, we may collect information including your contact details and responses to our Founding Member survey. We use this information to:

  • Manage your place on the waitlist
  • Validate demand for LoveProof
  • Understand our prospective users
  • Improve the product
  • Communicate development and launch updates
  • Administer Founding Member benefits
  • Provide promotional or activation codes
  • Manage referral rewards

Founding Members who complete the qualifying survey may receive promotional benefits, including free access when LoveProof launches, subject to the applicable promotional terms.

6. Referral Program

LoveProof may allow Founding Members to invite friends using a unique referral link, email address or mobile number. We may collect and process referral information for the purpose of:

  • Identifying the referring member
  • Attributing successful referrals
  • Issuing referral rewards
  • Preventing duplicate or fraudulent referrals
  • Sending an invitation requested by the referring member

Where you provide another person's email address or mobile number, you should only do so where you reasonably believe they would be comfortable receiving the invitation. We will not treat a referred person as a LoveProof member unless they choose to register themselves.

7. Marketing Communications

If you join our waitlist or otherwise choose to receive updates, we may send you communications about:

  • LoveProof's development
  • Beta testing
  • Product launches
  • New features
  • Founding Member benefits
  • Relevant promotions

You can unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe link contained in our emails. We may still send essential service-related communications where necessary.

8. How We Store and Protect Information

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information against misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

These measures may include appropriate technical, administrative and organisational safeguards.

However, no internet service or electronic storage system can guarantee absolute security.

We will retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, our legitimate operational requirements, or as required by law.

Where information is no longer required, we will take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it where appropriate.

9. Third-Party Service Providers

LoveProof may use trusted third-party providers to operate our services.

These may include providers of:

  • Cloud hosting

As LoveProof's technology providers are finalised, we may update this Privacy Policy to provide further information about relevant overseas processing and locations.

10. Overseas Processing

Some of the technology services used by LoveProof may operate infrastructure outside Australia.

This means personal information may potentially be processed or stored in other countries.

Where Australian privacy laws apply to an overseas disclosure, we will take reasonable steps to handle those disclosures consistently with applicable requirements.

11. Cookies and Analytics

LoveProof may use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Keep the website functioning
  • Understand website traffic
  • Measure marketing performance
  • Understand how visitors interact with the website
  • Improve user experience
  • Prevent fraud and abuse

You may be able to control cookies through your browser or device settings.

12. Accessing or Correcting Your Information

You may contact us to request access to personal information we hold about you or ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. We may need to verify your identity before processing a request. In some circumstances, applicable law may permit or require us to refuse access. If this occurs, we will generally explain the reason where required.

13. Deleting Your Information

You may contact us to request deletion of personal information associated with your LoveProof account or waitlist registration. We will consider and action deletion requests where reasonably practicable and consistent with our legal obligations. Certain information may need to be retained for legal, security, fraud-prevention or legitimate record-keeping purposes.

14. Privacy Complaints

If you believe LoveProof has mishandled your personal information, please contact us. Please include enough information for us to understand and investigate your concern. We will aim to acknowledge and investigate privacy complaints within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied with our response and Australian privacy law applies, you may have the right to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

15. Children's Privacy

LoveProof is intended for adults using online dating services.

LoveProof is not intended for children under 18 and we do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children through our dating-profile analysis services.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

LoveProof is currently being developed, and the way our technology operates may evolve. We may update this Privacy Policy as our services, technology providers, features or legal obligations change. The latest version will always be published on our website together with the date it was last updated.
